How To Turn On Your Negativity Spam Filter
What is the most annoying, energy draining, dream killing, thing in the world? Negative people. Its not just the people themselves, but its the words they speak and the lifestyle they live that is what causes negativity. I used to try and help people as much as I could by getting them to see things in a much more positive perspective, but it seems like they just won’t listen. Its almost as if they enjoy being negative. Sadly for some this is true. People are in love with their misery. They keep focusing all of their attention on what they don’t want, all of the time. It is understandable though, because for some reason it seems much easier to make a list of the things that we don’t want in our life. However, there is no excuse.
As I was listening to someone complain about their many problems, I noticed that everything I was listening to had an effect on me. Its like listening to relaxing music to relax yourself, or hardcore rock music to give you energy. It sometimes is the same with the conversations you have with other people, and even if you aren’t the one talking. Whatever you listen to the majority of the time has a great effect on you. Whatever the conversation is, it moves you in that particular mood. It is very challenging to be a positive person, when you are always around a negative environment. If you have a bunch of negative friends, and you want to be positive, what do you think you should do? Everybody’s answer will be different, so answer in a way that you feel you should do. However if you choose to stay in that negative environment, you have to really turn up your negativity spam filter.
I came up with the negativity spam filter as a fun way of looking at negative people when they come to attack you, I mean talk to you
Learn to block their negativity from getting in your head. Most people let the things they don’t want to hear go through one ear and out the other. I say don’t even let it get inside in the first place! People need to learn to listen to negative people in a way that would help them, not just listening just to listen with no intention of helping the situation. That is like self sabotage whenever you just sit and listen to a negative person. No, listen and gather up ideas for the other person to solve their problems. Don’t take in the negative things they are saying to you, let it go and focus on the solution not the problem.
Fascinating ways to block negativity spam from your head!!!
1. When you are in a conversation with someone, smile the entire time. Whenever they start complaining yell Spam, Spam! Delete!
2. If someone tries to remind you of the negative conversation they had were they complained to you about something, just act as if it never happened and look at them confused. Then say “maybe it was someone else”. If they are sure they were talking to you, say “wait a second, let me check my spam folder, oh, there it is!”
3. Tell a person you can only hear some of the words they are saying because your negativity spam is on. (For some, you won’t hear anything)
4. When a very annoying person comes up, who you know without a doubt complains, whines, and cries about everything, quickly yell “Negativity Spam, Activate!” right before they approach and then sit up and position yourself to listen.
5. This is a way that I’m bringing back from a recent post “Negativity Draining You Energy?” Every time they come around you put your hands over your ears, one day they will get it.

Barbara Bradbury :
I love the idea of shouting “Negativity Spam Filter -On”!! or words to that effect. I’ll give it a go when I next get the opportunity. However, I must say that most of the people I connect with are very positive people - I’ve weeded out the negative ones over time.
