The Secret To Rebuilding Your Credit

The truth is that there is no secret, but responsibility. You have to have self control and discipline to manage your money efficiently. If you want to build credit or rebuild your bad credit, don’t keep misusing the cards. Although the big companies want you to, (that’s how they make money) it doesn’t mean anything. Pay your bills off on time, DO NOT keep paying the minimum balance just to hang in there, because in the end you will still be there, in debt.

Reduce the amount of credit cards you have, there should be no more than two open. This is something I advise to anyone, especially those who are looking to buy a house sometime soon.

Here are some of the many tips to rebuilding your credit.

1. The first step is the most important step. This step alone could lead you in the right direction to your financial freedom. Begin by making a promise to yourself that you are going to pay your credit cards off in an organized and timely manner. It would also be wise to promise others who are of value to you the same promise. By promising that you will do it, you will see much better results than if you had made it a regular goal. Our minds take promises more serious.

2. Keep track of everything that you are spending. Split them up individually from bills, personal, credit cards, etc.

3. With that list figure out what is necessary and what is not. Get rid of anything that is unnecessary, too much of it is probably why most are in debt.

4. Start paying more than the lowest balance on your credit cards. You should work to pay them off rather than just “hanging in there”.

5. Check your credit report every once in a while to make sure that there aren’t any mistakes made. If so, contact whoever is in authority and get those mistakes taken care of, now.

6. Start by paying the most to the cards with the highest interest rate so that they can be the first to go.

7. Don’t buy anything you absolutely don’t need, especially nothing that would put you further in debt. If you see something that looks tempting, remind yourself of your promise not to spend unwisely. Stick to your promise and make it happen.

8. Keep in mind that no matter how much you owe if you want it paid off it will get paid off, only to the extent if you actually want it done. Responsibility starts in the mind. Take control of yourself, and then you will see a difference everywhere esle, including your finances.
