Why Helping Others Is Important For YOU

As we live in a world were about 98% think and act with the “what’s in it for me?” attitude, it can be a little difficult to find humble generous people. A humble generous person is not someone who gives to the needy just for recognition to build their own name. No, a true humble generous person is someone who gives to those in need, and doesn’t try to make a big announcement every time they do their good deeds. Whenever any type of donation is given these days, it seems as if it is broad casted everywhere. When other people know about the generous acts is not necessarily whats wrong here. What is wrong is the fact that people try so hard to impress other people, or when businesses give to the needy with the only intention of promoting their name rather than taking care and fulfilling the needs of others. What is worse than that is the people who don’t even give at all, or those who give for selfish reasons.

Giving should be done everyday. It should be a part of everyones agenda on a consistent basis. We definitely were not sent here just to store up treasures for ourselves. Our purpose is giving to others with good intentions of their needs being fulfilled. You should never give out of compulsion, thinking that because you have to give something away to someone. Some people also think that when they give because they think they have to, that they are doing a good deed. Unfortunately, this is wrong. We should give with a cheerful attitude and not expect anything back in return from the person we gave to. This might be hard to swallow for some, but just know, change is good.

To give is “the” way of living the life YOU want. What you give to others, you are actually giving to yourself. When you fulfill someones need in a certain area, your needs will be fulfilled in that same area as well. What you give, you get back, but, the cheerful givers who give out of the humble kindness of their heart get back even more. Your giving should be an attitude and a way of life, rather than a one time goal or task. In other words it should be something that you consistently do everyday naturally from the heart. It definitely shouldn’t be something you start one day and forget about the next week. It should be authentic, and people should know you as a giving person.

The reason you are were you are right now, is somewhat based on what you have given in your life. There is a saying “To be poor is a sin” and if you think about it this is very hard to swallow but true. If we are truly giving with good intentions everyday, there should be no reason why we should be poor, none whatsoever. It is written in the bible “you reap what you sow”. This is a law of the universe, and it works correctly and fair every time. So if you are lacking anything and you want more in your life, then you need to learn to give more. Find different ways of giving to others with good intentions, and don’t expect anything back from that person. God has a good way of giving it back to you. Giving goes beyond just money. We are not limited to just giving money away only, but we can give love, time, encouragement, and other great gifts as well. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what form you give, just as long as you give.

“Giving is no different than breathing, you need to do it in order to live.” - Walt
